Psychedelic Dallol

Right, that place is absolutely unique, but what a trip to get there. The Dallol volcano is in the Danakil Depression of Ethiopia, one of the hottest place on earth. To make it even better, Dallol is pretty close to the Eritrean border (less than 10 km), meaning that a military escort is mandatory to visit the site. Finally, on getting close to the crater, visitors are welcomed by “delicious” fumes of sulfur dioxide and other healthy gases. It’s the perfect nightmare location.
