Week 8
Plus Post
What a fantastic journey these 8 weeks have been. From shooting just 150 photos for the first half of the year.. to way over several thousand during the mentorship. My camera and I have have worked a whole lot harder since this mentorship started.
Thank you Alex Lapidus and G+ Mentorship Program for Photographers for opening these avenues for us to explore.
The Reference image was quite a challenge. But scrolling back through the feed and seeing the incredible work that has been presented, I’m awed at how much we didn’t “see” before this mentorship!
Cap that with the support and motivation doled out in generous portions, this community makes it to Numero Uno of the places to hand out online!
As we end phase one, my heartfelt gratitude to Alex Lapidus, all the moderators and the members for making this journey one for the books! You guys are amazing!
I’ve always loved shooting flowers. Each year I take a picture (several hundred to be more precise) of the dahlias in our garden. Shooting them differently is a challenge I always give myself. Thanks to this mentorship I now have new arsenal to make the most mundane scene come to life.
One of my favourite images in terms of shooting and processing. I give you –

Wonderful sentiment and sentimental image. I love the way the motion makes this so vibrant yet soft. These blurry processes fit well in your hands.
Thank you so very much, Red Caldwell… very kind of you. Must say, Blur had been as welcoming as I’ve been willing to embrace it.
What a lovely post, Lucille! And your image is magnificent with soft toned colours. I also really like the post processing and your vision!
So soft and beautiful.

What a beautiful image of your dahlias. So glad you have found this perfect way to incorporate all of this blur into a subject which you shoot regularly. That is a wonderful beginning. So glad to have shared in your fun.

Thanks so very much, I know you will create wonderful images as you are well on your way.
Lucille Galleli A wonderful image Lucille, and it’s amazing just how much thinking in blurs helps us to see our surroundings anew. I first started following you for your flower photos, and it’s been a pleasure to see the full breadth of your work as we’ve worked through these last 8 weeks.
So pleased to see you come so far. Keep shooting, keep posting.
Thanks a bunch, Jane Levine 😀
