Keep on moving

Keep on moving

I still see people posting to Google+. It warms my heart to see that we still harbour hope.

I’ve met some fantastic people via G+. The G+ Mentorship Program for Photographers the Blur, Street and Scavenger communities became part of my online existence and still continue to influence me as a photographer and Artist.

I’d love to see Google+ continue. But even if it doesn’t, it has always been the

people that matter, not the platform… and I wouldn’t want to contact with you.

I’m testing out all the new platforms that have been suggested and I’ve added all the usual suspects. In order of preference they are:

CAKE: https://www.cake.co/users/lucille

MEWE: https://mewe.com/i/lucille

Pluspora: lucille@pluspora.com

Minds: https://www.minds.com/iSkye

If you are on FB, find me as https://www.facebook.com/lucille

I do look forward to keeping in touch with you. What have you been trying out since the news broke?

  1. I agree with Stephen Thackeray.

Currently I don’t know, if I will put much effort into another social network – after all, how long will pluspora or Mewe exist? But I will continue to post photos on Flickr.

  2. Lucille Galleli I like Pluspora BUT (and it’s a big but) the max display width of a photo is 700px, so any photos in Landscape mode are extremely limited -it’s like looking at a good photo on a phone but with no means of seeing the image in all its glory! I’m going to start making more use of Flickr.

  3. I don’t really have another “public” platform….seriously hoping that google makes another SM platform…maybe better than this one .🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m on Pluspora, but not 100% sure I’ll stay. Depends on where the Hunt Scavengers are!

  4. hey Lucille, you already found me on FB, I’m not sure yet what I will do… already on pluspora, but maybe this is not my cup of tea.

In doubt I will continue on FB as I was doing it anyway and posting on IG…

I agree it’s about people, but G+ is the perfect place to share and connect and probably it will not be the same on other platforms…

    great photo btw. 🙂

  5. Of the other social networks MeWe feels like a better option than pluspora. Never liked Facebook but may bite the bullet if that’s where a lot of G+ photography people choose to be.

Personally I’m going with 500px over Flickr as my main online choice for photography, it’s not perfect but it feels more active.

Don’t see any of the above as a genuine G+ replacement though.
