Assignment 2, image 1 – Identifiable subject
Is it a bird? Is it a plane?
Finally managed one decent shot after hours of attempting to find a subject in a dreary neighbourhood.

Very nice! Mysterious and ethereal, with intriguing colors.
Alex Lapidus … Thank you so much. I didn’t expect such lovely compliments.
I’m so glad I’m trying this. Must admit, I have tried settings that I never imagined using on my camera 🙂
Thank you so much for this opportunity!
Almost a still life. Love this tableau.
She’s beautiful, Lucille … love her wings raised up that way. Great catch. 🙂
I was pleasantly surprised at how this came out Françoise Dhulesia… thank you for stopping by to comment.
Thank you so much k phelps… took a lot of patience, but I’m glad I persisted 😀
Lucille Galleli
Lovely capture of the bird in motion. The background is most surprising as I would have expected the sky but find this color to be intriguing suggesting the bird is in some interior space or is it on the ground.
Thanks much, Jane Levine… the background is the ground, but I felt the lines and texture enhanced the blur 🙂
This has a really whimsical feel to it… a bird against a background that is clearly not sky! Nicely seen!
Beautifully done. The background color is not only unexpected, but is such a great contrast to the bird.
Margrit Schwarz thanks for taking time to pen a comment. This was a surprise shot. Was so glad when I found it would work for the assignment.
Thanks a bunch Cheryl Day… I thought so too 🙂
It is unexpected when you think of birds and blue sky. Adds drama to the shot.
nicely done, the brown background makes the pigeon just pop. Love the blur of the wings as it flies.
Shooting in a dreary place makes any assignment even harder, so bravo on capturing this. I find it really hard to shoot in places, I don’t find enjoyable, beautiful or fascinating.
I wanted to capture birds in flight but couldn’t do it.
Great fluttering bird in flight image Lucille Galleli!! Capturing the side of the bird adds an excited feeling of rapid escape to the shot!! Nicely done!! :))
Happy accidents keep happening to me Cathy Custer Donohoue… So loving this first assignment! Thank you so much.
Thanks a bunch, Jennifer Walton I’m glad it worked out 😀
I feel you Edward Norton… Especially since I’m drawn to colour. After this assignment, I’m considering shooting for a whole day only in black and white, trying to get myself to see shapes and patterns as well 🙂
How about a dare?
Keep at it Sonali Dalal… I almost gave up when I finally got this shot!
Thank you so much Carmen Mandich… I’m pleased as punch at how this one turned out. Honestly didn’t expect such a good reception 🙂
You captured this beautifully Lucille Galleli… and birds can be really tough!! Enjoy what you have achieved!! You earned it!! :))
Yeahhh …. aren’t you the sweetest, Carmen Mandich… big hugs!
Naahhh Lucille Galleli!! You haven’t seen my bird shots!! HUGS!!! ;))
great capture!
Love the pop of iridescent under the wing – nice angle of flight and nice subtle streaky background Lucille Galleli!
Carmen Mandich… let’s remedy that, come on. Send me one of your bird shots 🙂
Thank you Lisa s 😀
wow … loved the way you described the bits you liked in the image Stephanie Cassiday-Krueger… thank you so much for stopping by to comment.
Lucille Galleli You asked for it!!! I’ll post it soonest!! :))
Ready when you are 🙂
