#256SOG_03 – Emphasis Selective Colour
A bit late for the assignment, and if it’s not permitted, I’m hoping the moderators will let me know.
I’ve never really thought in Black and White before … life’s always been about colour! This journey has got me trying everything in a whole new way. It’s a blast!
Love the wonderful images I’ve been seeing in this group. So totally ready for a free weekend to shoot and to comment on all your lovely work!

Lucille Galleli, you are welcome to post late. It is always better late than never. We all have things in our real lives that come first sometimes. Just understand, the later you get, the fewer comments you’ll get as people’s minds shift to the current project.
Excellent use of selective color. I’ll bet with just plain B&W, that the Beefeater would have been lost in the scene. with him in color, he clearly stands out making this a very nice photograph. My one note of critique would be that the buildings appear to be leaning to the right. Is the photo tilted or is that lens distortion? A slight crop/tilt to the lift might fix that in Lightroom.

Great job here Lucille Galleli, this is a wonderful example of selective color. Without the color, he probably would have blended into the background.
Perfect use of color selection, I love the details on the walls and ground. Nicely done.

I really like this photo for this assignment. The street is so busy with textures, and there’s this person with a fabulously busy and colorful coat- perfect for pulling out. 🙂
I really like this shot. The scale of the buildings and the beefeater are very stimulating. I do not think this would be as stimulating in just black and white. There does appear to be a little bit of a bleed of blue on my screen around the legs and a small amount of mixing on the jacket. I am not sure if this was your intention I had a similar issue with my bridge and had spent much time cleaning the lines. I do see a small tilt too. Although I know a lot of the old cities I photograph, the buildings are kinda wonkers in real life. 🙂
