#256SOG_05 : Emphasis – Focus
Shot this rose in the house of a friend. Was processing it like I do most flowers I shoot when I realized it would be perfect for the assignment Focus 🙂
I’m still doing to try and shoot another … but for now… a precious rose… in Black and White.
Used Lightroom to convert to B&W.
Dodged and burned a bit.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Interesting how the DOF pulls you into the flower because the tips of the fore petals are in soft focus. Was that intended? I’m kind of fixated on the effect at the moment. 😉
I agree with Randy Raz Ullon – the idea of the assignment is that the DOF causes the focus to draw your eye to the subject – it works perfectly here!
Beautiful flower and yes, the DOF works great. The light draws your attention straight to the rose, and then the DOF draws you in further. Very nice.
Totally agree with the others. It’s a wonderful example of DOF and soft light.Lovely work Lucille Galleli!
Thank you so much for your kind comments Randy Raz Ullon Scott Thomas Marie Richardson Annie Petrick and Larry Deitch .. I’m glad I could draw you in with this shot 🙂 I did work a little dodge on the centre of the rose… it was similar to the rest of the petals and I wanted to bring it out… glad everyone noticed 😀 Thanks again. Have a nice one!
