Week 2- Setting the Stage/Simplification 1/3

Week 2- Setting the Stage/Simplification 1/3

After several tries, I finally found this corridor and the colour, patterns and light caught my attention immediately!

The sun hid behind a cloud just when I shot this, but it’s still one of my favourites, cause she was surveying the crowds probably wondering if she’ll make enough to keep her going before the evening is over. I hope she did.

  1. Lovely use of light and colour Lucille Galleli I especially like the red/green and the blue/ orange contrasts. You have captured an interesting subject and her story. I enjoy the repeating shadows on the orange sails.. A great example of simplification and use of leading lines they draw my eye right to her face. Well done!!

  2. Lucille Galleli I love how you framed your subject so perfectly between the orange areas and the combination of orange/blue and green/red is beautiful. Lovely lines!!

  3. This is my favorite of the three. The photo and place seems quieter and not so stressed as the first two photos. But maybe I am just having a fable for people shot from the back?

  4. I really like the portico that you used for this image – the angle shows a very nice definition of the columns as well as the colorful panels. I like the elegance of your subject – the colors compliment the setting Lucille Galleli

  5. Although the light is softer than in your second shot, it still has some intensity and has created contrasts. But with the light being a little less intense, so I find in these situations that characters and their stories can take on more importance. A wonderful character in a interesting costume and with a nice posture / gesture all adds to the interest. Three very different shots in the same scene, you worked it!

  6. teresa pilcher, thank you so much. I’m so glad I was able to get her at just that point. Sol is a melting point of so many different people and characters. Over the years I had become immune to their charm. This exercise made me pay more attention and appreciate the differences. Thank you so much for this gift. 🙂

  7. Angelo Gifford … yipeeee … am so glad you said that. That was what I was aiming for. Must admit, the universe conspired for some interesting subjects to come my way 😀
