And the PA museum writeup says that Klee’s Fish piece is set squarely in German Romanticism. And here I was, wondering what a ‘romantic fish’ would look like, since it’s the one missing! Who knows what Turner or Caspar David would have done to a fish?! But I wouldn’t have associated Klee with romanticism. Always a new aspect to everything!
