Assignment 1 – 1/3
Heat wave!
Shot the sun through some trees (right before the leaves burned to ashes from the heat we are experiencing). Tried several shape blurs, but decided on wave distortion instead.
A bit of Colour Efex and this.
Going back to experimenting… 😉

I definitely can feel the intensity of the heat! Love the way the distortion expresses the feeling of dizziness!
I immediately thought heat wave before I looked at the title! Super well done.
We are under a heat advisory this week I might be seeing a lot of this! Well done.
Great shot Lucille Galleli!!! I feel better already! Thanks!! º\o/º
Thanks a bunch, Françoise Dhulesia… 🙂
hee hee .. so glad I could convey the idea Cathy Custer Donohoue 😀
Ohhh… stay hydrated Cheryl Day… Thanks much.
Thanks a bunch, Carmen Mandich 😀
Very interesting! It has the feeling of a reflection in water as well. Oddly, we’re having a heat wave here too.
Lucille Galleli
We have been having that heat wave as well. Wonderful idea to create the visual.
That’s what I thought as well, Alex Lapidus. Stay safe.
Thanks a bunch, Jane Levine 🙂 Don’t get caught by the heat.
And here we are breaking records for number of days over 30°C. Sounds like globally warming. The waves give a watery like reflective quality to me but it has a really pleasing quality that I really like.
We’ve been at almost 40 for a week and a half. Received some respite in the form of a storm. Global warming it is!
Thanks much, Angelo Gifford 🙂
Oh my, we had 40 in UK 12 years ago for one day and all the public transport just broke down. Even at 30, it starts to fail.
We had a couple of weeks of 40+ last year. Looks like it’ll be the same this time as well. Good thing is, people tend to leave for the beach which means driving within the city is such a pleasure 🙂
That’s crazy hot. Never gets above 35 here, although with the humidity it can feel a lot hotter. But never drops below 24. Anything under 27 and I sit with my feet under the dog . . . which I’m doing now.
This works really well, that feeling you get when your head is cooked. I’m sure being a Spaniard this probably doesn’t happen to you, but I’m an Englishman and you’ll find me with the mad dogs, out in the mid day sun.
So glad you like it Edward Norton…. An Englishman in Singapore, one that can’t take the cold either. Good thing you moved 🙂
Thanks much for stopping by to comment. Cheers!
